Epona & Barkus Parade

***The big canine event each season starts with the Epona and Barkus Parade which celebrates Mackinac's dogs & ponies as well as involving their vacationing canine friends on the Saturday before Father's Day. Each season professional animal trainers take the stage at Windermere Point to show what our four legged friends can do. Its the most entertaining day of the year. Previous shows have included dogs from the Russian Circus, Wallen's Wild West Show and Police Dogs from Mid Michigan Rescue.

About Epona & Barkus
Epona is known as the Roman and Celtic goddess of horses and protector of all animals. Barkus is a play on words from Bacchus, the Roman god wine coined by the good folks from the Krewe of Barkus in New Orleans.
